While Flood Safety Awareness Week takes place every March, preparation for dangerous flooding is appropriate any time of the year. Even for those not living along the Fox River or Otter Creek, snow melt and/or sustained heavy rains can bring flooding and soggy basements to all areas of our Village. The Village recommends residents have a Go Kit ready just in case you are needed to evacuate a flooded property. Items in the Go Kit can include:
Flashlight with spare batteries
Soap
Sanitary supplies - hand sanitizer, wipes, etc.
First Aid Kit
Rubber/latex gloves
Prescription glasses
Device chargers
Cash
Sleeping bags
