Crime Prevention and Community Relations

The Police Department is committed to providing the community with an array of programs dedicated to crime prevention and community relations.  As part of day-to-day operations of the department residents, and businesses alike are given the opportunity to work together in partnership with department personnel by participating in programs and/or training.

The department offers a Vacation Watch for residents who may be leaving home for more than a day or two.  Officers will periodically check on your home upon completion of the Vacation Watch application

Register a bicycle for a minimal fee of 50 cents at the Police Department, 10 N. Water Street.  By registering the bicycle should it be lost or stolen and ultimately recovered, the serial number issued with registration will allow the Police to return it to you.

The department also offers a Ride-a-Long Program which allows the participate to observe police operations by riding along with an Officer.
