The Streets Division divides responsibilities into four programs: Street and Bridge Maintenance, Snow and Ice Control, Parkway Maintenance, and Storm Water Maintenance. The Streets Division maintains over 72 miles of street with responsibilities including: crack sealing; pavement marking; pothole patching; resurfacing; snow and ice control on Village owned roads; street sweeping and utility cut repairs. These maintenance activities are performed using a combination of in-house crews and private contractors. Preventative maintenance of Streets Division also includes the management of the Village-wide vehicle fleet; tree replacements (50/50 Parkway Tree Replacement Program); a twice monthly branch pick up program and tree trimming. The division also provides routine maintenance on street lights and signage as well as spring/summer larvicide applications to reduce the spread of the West Nile Virus.
