Portion of Route 31 Closed Effective 4/22/24
During summer/fall of 2023, Village crews will be repaving a number of our streets. This differs from our annual road resurfacing program because we will not be using a paving company contractually obligated to repair a pre-determined list of streets. Doing it ourselves does save money. However, the number of roads our crew resurfaces this summer/fall will depend upon several factors including weather, ongoing availability of asphalt and materials, and whether an urgent issue pulls staff away to repair water main breaks, tend to storm damage, or address other critical infrastructure needs.
About the project: Work will begin with the removal of the old asphalt followed by the installation of new asphalt. Throughout this process, residents will have access to their driveways. However, we ask residents and guests to drive carefully and follow the crew’s directions for everyone's safety while our crew is working. Parking will not be allowed in the work zone between the hours of 7am - 6pm until the project is complete.
Emergency vehicles will always have access and garbage service will continue, however it may be picked up early morning before the road crew begins work. Please be advised the construction schedule is dependent on weather and is subject to delays. During working hours of 7am – 6pm, questions or concerns should be directed to the Village's Streets & Forestry Superintendent (847-695-2742).
