Facility & Garden Plot Rentals

Community Garden Plots
We'll prepare the plots. All you have to do is plant...all of this for the low pirce of $30 for the entire season! Call 847-622-0003. At the time of registration, gardeners will be provided instructions, garden rule and an assigned plot. First day of planting: May 4, 2020. Two garden plot locations. See below for details:

Raymond Gardens at 499 Raymond Street (near new east side fire station)

Features raised beds for gardeners with physical limitations or are simply tired of bending and reaching. Also includes:
  • 3'x8' garden tilled bed
  • Unlimited access to on-site water
  • Mushroom compost
  • Asphalt parking lot
  • fully accessible gardens via asphalt path

Spring Gardens at 373 Spring Street (across from Willard Elementary)
Features well-lit, fenced, highly-visible area to serve all gardening needs. Also includes:
  • 10' x 14' garden tilled plot
  • Unlimited access to on-site water
  • Mushroom compost
  • Easy access parking
Indoor: North Room Rental
NOTE: DURING CORONAVIRUS STAY AT HOME ORDERS, INDOOR/OUTDOOR SHELTERS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR RENTAL AND USAGE.  RESERVATIONS FOR FUTURE RENTALS WILL BE ACCEPTED WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THE AVAILABILITY MAY BE CANCELED DEPENDING ON THE DURATION OF SOCIAL DISTANCING AND STAY-AT-HOME REQUIREMENTS.

The Municipal Annex Room is available for rent. The space is a great facility to hold a meeting, baby/bridal shower, and other events. A room rental request form must be completed at least 14 days prior to the rental date requested. Availability can be viewed on WebTrac: www.southelgin.com/registration

A deposit of $100 is due at the time of the request. Deposits will be returned within one week of the usage date if the facility is in the condition it was presented.
Room Rental Fees (Include Set-Up & Clean-Up Time When Figuring Total Cost):
Resident:
  • $25/hour: Monday-Friday until 10pm
  • $40/hour: Saturday and Sunday until 10pm
  • $15 flat rate for use of kitchen
Non-Resident:
  • $65/hour: Monday-Friday until 10pm
  • $80/hour: Saturday and Sunday until 10pm
  • $15 flat rate for use of kitchen

Outdoor Shelter Rentals

Shelters are available at Lions Park on the east side of town and Jim Hansen Park, SEBA Park, and Stowell-Peddy Park on the west side of town. The shelters are available for birthday parties, family reunions, general picnics, etc. Fee required upon booking along with a $100 deposit. For shelter reservations, call 847-622-0003 or stop by Village Hall. Reservation must be made two weeks prior to booking date. A $25 fee will be assessed if requested within two weeks of booking date.

Lions Park: picnic tables, electricity, Port-a-Potty
SEBA Park: picnic tables, electricity, flush toilets
Stowell Peddy Park: picnic tables, NO electricity, Port-a-Potty

Outdoor Facility Shelter reservations begin the first week of February. Shelter reservations are now being accepted. To inquire about availability, contact the Parks & Recreation at (847) 622-0003.
