Adjudication Hearings

The Village of South Elgin’s Administrative Hearing process was established to provide a fair and efficient system of enforcement of Village ordinances as may be allowed by law and directed by ordinance through the creation of the Code Hearing Department Ordinance No. 2004-16.

Hearings for individuals wishing to challenge an ordinance violation citation may do so at the monthly Adjudications Hearing typically held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 3 pm in the Board Room of  Village Hall, 10 N. Water Street.  These hearings are presided over by a Hearing Officer.  The Hearing Officer is a fair and impartial licensed attorney, not an employee of the Village, who has the authorization to hear testimony, issue final orders and impose penalties and fines.
