Utility bills are generated by the 10th of each month and are due the 25th of each month. If the 25th falls on a Sunday or a Village Holiday, the due date is extended to the next business day. A penalty of 10% is charged for late payment. Please note that the property owner and/or occupant, and the user of the water, sewer and refuse service, or any combination thereof, are jointly and severally liable to pay for all of the utility services on the premises.

To begin or terminate water/sewer service, please click here to complete an easy online form. For additional assistance, please call the Administrative Services Department at 847-742-5780.

A monthly credit of $2.00 is available to senior citizens. Senior citizens applying for this credit must reside at the address where the Village is providing service and provide proof of age (driver's license, real estate tax bill reflecting the senior citizen exemption, etc.).

A monthly credit of $5.00 conservation credit is applied to all accounts that use less than 2,000 gallons of water in any monthly billing cycle.

Remote water meters call readings in monthly.  If a meter does not call, an estimated bill will be generated.  If water consumption on your bill reflects 6,000 gallons exactly, the bill has been estimated. If your reading is estimated, you may be over or under paying for utility services. Please contact the Public Works Department at 847-695-2742 to schedule an appointment to have the meter repaired.

Utility bills may be paid online, at the Village Hall, by mail, through the Automatic Bill Program or, if paying by check,  the outside drop box located on Spring Street by Panton Mill Park (next to the U.S. Postal Service Mailbox.)

The Automatic Bill Program allows the amount of your bill to be automatically deducted from your checking account.  In order to enroll in the program, please complete the Automatic Bill Program enrollment form.  If you wish to stop automatic payments, complete the Automatic Bill Program termination form.  The forms are found on the Forms and Applications page under resident.

The Village also offers the option to pay your utility bill online with your MasterCard or Visa.  To access your account, you will need to enter the full account number and your name as it appears on your most recent utility bill.  There is no service charge for paying your utility bill online.

In the event you need your water turned off for repairs, please contact the Public Works Department at 847-695-2742 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Staff will turn it off and back on at no expense during normal business hours.
