Parks and Recreation Department - Staff Member (PT)
The Village of South Elgin is seeking employees to work a variety of programs year round.  Responsibilities include assisting in a variety of programs including After Shock (after school program), the HUB and other recreational programs as needed.  Qualifications include a minimum of 16 years of age; must be enthusiastic, organized, energetic, and enjoy working with children of all ages.  Applicants must possess excellent communication skills.  Must be available M-F from 2:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (may not work every day) and some weekends. This is a part-time position, which does not earn benefits; salary is $11.00 per hour.

Parks and Recreation Department - Preschool Assistant (PT)
The Village of South Elgin is seeking an individual, who will assist the preschool classes with various tasks at the end of class daily, including following cleaning protocols set by SEPR staff.  Qualifications include: minimum of 16 years of age, and a valid state driver’s license without record of suspension or revocation in any state.  Applicants must possess excellent communication skills and be able to follow written directions.  Must be enthusiastic, organized, energetic, and enjoy working with children of all ages.  Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 3-6 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday 1-4 p.m., however hours may be flexible. Salary is $10.00 per hour. This position does not earn benefits.

Police Department - Crossing Guard (PT)
The Village of South Elgin is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Crossing Guard.  The successful candidates will perform the duty of assisting children in crossing right-of-ways within the Village.  Applicants will ensure patterns of safe behavior, prevent unsafe acts, and report minor and major problems involving children while crossing streets to appropriate school officials. Qualifications include the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; must be able to lift a portable traffic signal and be prompt and reliable when reporting to work. This is a half hour in the morning and a half an hour in the afternoon position, working 176 days per year, with no employment benefits offered. Starting salary is $30.00 per hour.
