Public Works

Mike Millette

The Department of Public Works is responsible for providing vital public services to the community.  The department operates and maintains the combined waterworks and sewerage system; and constructs and cares for all public streets, alleys and driveways.

The water and sewer division manages the water and sewer systems utilized by residents and for fire suppression.  This includes the monitoring of water to ensure the community is provided safe, high quality drinking water.  Sanitary sewers are routinely televised to identify problem areas and storm inlets are periodically vacuumed to prevent flooding and blockages in storm sewers.

The streets division is responsible for preventative maintenance of roadways and also includes the management of the Village-wide vehicle fleet; tree replacements; a twice monthly branch pick up program; tree trimming and Emerald Ash Borer containment.  The division also provides routine maintenance on street lights and signage as well as spring/summer larvicide applications to reduce the spread of the West Nile Virus.  During winter months, the division is responsible for snow and ice control on Village owned roads.
