Government

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, thank you for your interest in our community. The mission of the Village President and Board of Trustees is to promote a high quality of life for all residents; to maintain a prosperous financial base; to preserve South Elgin's unique heritage; and to conserve its distinct natural and historical character.

The Village Board of Trustees meet the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month, unless otherwise posted.  Both meetings, the Committee of the Whole and the Regular Meeting, are open to the public and participation is welcomed.

The Village of South Elgin is a Council/Manager form of government with the day-to-day operation being  overseen by the Village Administrator, Steve Super and his staff.  In addition to the elected Village Board, citizens of South Elgin are welcome to serve on advisory Boards and Commissions. These committees are an integral part of  the Village.

See our Events & Meetings Calendar for information about the dates and times of Village Board and Committee & Commission meetings
