The Village of South Elgin publishes Bid Requests and/or Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for many projects and/or products.  Along with this listing, Bid Requests and RFPs are often published in local newspapers in compliance with local, state and federal laws.

 2021 SIDEWALK, DRIVEWAY APRON & CURB REPLACEMENT PROJECT
The Village of South Elgin invites interested contractors to submit sealed bids for sidewalk, driveway
apron, and curb replacement project within the Village’s corporate limits, South Elgin, Illinois. Bids
shall be received until
11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, in the Public Works Department
and publicly opened at that time. (Bid Documents are available in the left hand menu "Related Pages")

Proposals shall be addressed to the undersigned and plainly marked on the outside of the envelope:
“BID PROPOSAL FOR 2021 SIDEWALK, DRIVEWAY APRON, & CURB REPLACEMENT PROJECT”

and the outside of the envelope should show the name of the bidder, firm contact, address, and
telephone number.

Contractors submitting proposals shall be required to submit with the bid a notarized copy of a
Certificate of Insurance for the full types and limits required by the attached contract.
The Village of South Elgin reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to determine the lowest
responsible bidder and to waive any informalities or irregularities. Further, the Village of South Elgin
reserves the right to reject any or all proposals.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL - CIVIC CENTER PARKING AND STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Village of South Elgin that sealed bids for the CIVIC CENTER PARKING AND STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT in the Village of South Elgin, Illinois, will be received by the Office of the Village Clerk, South Elgin Public Services, 1000 Bowes Road, South Elgin, Illinois 60177, until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 and at that time will be opened and read.

The work for which proposals are invited consists of constructing a new public parking lot and reconstructing the police parking lot west of the Civic Center and constructing streetscape improvements adjacent to the proposed parking lots within the right-of-way. Work for the parking lot includes concrete and asphalt pavement removal; earth excavation; grading and preparing sub-base material; placing aggregate base material; constructing storm sewer improvements; concrete curb and gutter; concrete sidewalk replacement and streetscape improvements; hot-mix asphalt pavement; lighting improvements; pavement markings; and all incidental and collateral work necessary to complete the proposed improvements.

Copies of the Proposed Improvements Plans and Project Documents, including the General Provisions and proposal forms may be obtained for a non-refundable fee of $30.00 from Chastain & Associates LLC, 120 West Center Court, Schaumburg, Illinois 60195, (Phone: 773-714-0050) and will be available for pick-up starting on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, after 12:00 P.M.

Bidders are advised of the following requirements of this contract: 1) 5% Bid Security with the bid submittal; 2) Illinois Prevailing Wage and Monthly Certified Payroll; 3) 100% Performance Bond on award of Contract; 4) Labor and Material Payment Bond on award of Contract and; 5) Insurance Certificate and Endorsement.
